Irkutsk Belarusian Club «Kryvych” organized the presentation of the book “Monte Cassino. Cheremkhovo”, author Vasil Rakita. This book is about Belarusians, members of the famous Anders’ Army (a Polish general who came from a noble family of Baltic Germans), who fought against the Nazis and who were exiled by the Stalin regime in 1950-51 to the city of Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk region. In 1971, the Supreme Court of the BSSR ruled that the deportation of the former “Anders” was unreasonable.
